This image was shot by my wife, Kelly, last July from the car in the Minesing Wetlands near Barrie, ON. This was a heavy crop around 60%, just wondering what you guys think of the square crop and if the plant in the right is a distraction. Thanks for looking.
I like the plant actually. It tends to soften the stump a bit.
Nice separation on the birds, excellent head angle on right bird, a bid away on the left. Well exposed.
I looked at the image in PS and cropped a bit up from the bottom to reduce the impact of the stump. Set the black point on the darkest area of the image, which increased the bite a bit, and helped decrease the slight green color cast on the birds. There is a little noise showing up in the background, which would benefit from some noise reduction.
Very nice shot. I like the habitat, perch and interaction between the birds. I wonder if lightening up the area around the left birds eye would help improve the photo. I like the suggested crop and might also consider a bit of a crop from right, to just about the small orange mark in lrc. Well done and looking forward to more. Dave
Love the subtle colors and the interaction between the birds. I like the crop of the repost but the colors of the original seem to have a little more depth. Nice shot
