    Default Backlit and Noisy

I photographed this immature Herring Gull at Barnegat Light a few days ago. The gull was not too happy that I walked by and let me know about it. I'm wondering what you think about the backlight in this situation. I actually like it because of the complementing background.

I like the composition a lot, and the pattern on the eye really gets my attention.. the backlighting works really well here Axel, the highlights on the beak also create a lot of interest. It is a really cool portrait.

Axel, I like the lighting and the open mouth. Great complimentary BG. Very nice details. Where's the one w/ the starfish?:)

Love the backlit throat and bill. And the screaming pose. Come flash reduced just a bit would likely have helped brighten the shaded side of the bird.

The backlighting looks very nice to me Axel, and if there's any noise here, I am not seeing it.
+10 Contrast makes it look quite fabulous on my monitor.

    real nice image,

    Kenn

Thanks, Denise! The head angle was not so great on the starfish images. I might post one just for fun later.

Image is a little cool in white areas. I like the composition and bg, and the backlighting works very well. You might try brightening the eye a bit, as it holds a lot of interest.

Cool pose, eye contact and backlit effect! A bit of FF would have maybe brought out the shaded part a bit more, but I like it as is very much as well! Nice one!
