    Shot with Olympus E-30 + Sigma 300-800/5.6 wide open at 800mm (1600mm effective focal length) at 1/640 sec., 400 iso.

    I like the ruffled plumage and light and might sharpen the bird a bit more. Could you have moved to your right for a better head angle?

    Where" Nice pose and a decent perch. Could use a bit more pop and some additional sharpening.

    I took the liberty of addressing Arties points.

    Most of the improvement in apparent sharpness and pop came from moving in the shadow slider to 10.

    I thought the perch was too bright, so selected it with quick mask, lowered contrast and brightness.

    Just an option for you.
