    Default Great Blue Heron

This time of year here in Florida the great Blue Herons are active. It is the courting and nest building that take up most of their time and a wonderful timing for photographers to capture nesting behavior.

Sweet Judy, inclusion of habitat makes this a lovely shot, HA and wing position both very good.

Really like the dark green surroundings that provide nice contrast for the bird. Pretty cool shadow on the heron's left underwing as well. Nice shot, Judy.

Wonderful habitat shot -- like the cypress trees(?) in the background and agree the shadow on the wing gives it a 3-D feel. Very nice Judy.

    This is wonderful image!

The bird is beautifully lit, sharp and colorful, with excellent contrast against a background that has great depth.

    I love it.

    WOW!! Judy -

Talking about right place - right time. You nailed this one - great eye contact, wing position, background, position of GBH against the background.

    Congrats!!!

This is an excellent shot especially showing the environment that these Herons live in.

    Hi Judy Lynn,
I love the way you captured the GBH against the dark BG....really makes it pop and the bit of greenery adds to it overall. Very nicely done!

Superb capture, Judy Lynn !! Like the way the BG frames and isolates the subject which has been caught in a very strong flight position.
    Best regards
