    Default Canada Goose

I've taken lots of pictures of these guys, but I've never been truly happy with the poses. I believe I finally got one I am happy with. Let me know what you think. Good or bad.

Nice tones in this shot. I like photographing geese as well. They are beautiful animals. People put them down a lot around here. But people are much more of a nuisance!

Robert Bateman has a great painting called 'Nesting Geese'. Might be some ideas there. Here's a link to an image of it:

I agree Rodney, these guys are a bit like chickadees - abundant and accessible but darn hard to capture in that perfect pose. But this one does it - I love the overall softness of the image but with that bright, sharp eye. The bit of wing-drop adds to the balance. Makes a Canadian proud!

Very lovely coloring and pose in this image and well composed. Well done Rodney.

Thanks for the link James. I hope to get some nice nesting shots like that in the future.

This looks good to me, nice lighting and detail, I often ignore these guys and a result don't know if I have any good images of them.

I like the lighting and the soft color tones in the background. I like to take shots of these when they are in odd poses or preening-but I do like the image design here with the small piece of land and the curved neck. Beautifully captured.
