Another image from one of our trips to the Okavango this year. I found that hand-holding the 500 f/4 can yield great results in situations like these.

Fantastic image you have here, Chris! The timing with the water splash, the fish in the talon... All set upon a nice colorful BG.

    Chris:

Congrats on #1000. Excellent image, the combination of pose, water flying and techs gives it real impact.

    Cheers

Fantastic image Chris. I had to look at it a long time before I could find anything to critique! I was really drawn into this scene, with that immaculate "eagle-eye" grabbing my focus. The one potential shortcoming that I can see is the overlap of the tip of the beak and the primary feather. I think it would be better if there was separation. Perhaps this is only one of a sequence, another of which may provide that separation.

Pretty cool capture. I like the angle, sharpness, eye contact and BG. The fish adds to it. I agree on beak/wing separation.

Superb image Chris, love the sharpness and detail, fish is a plus and both flight angle and wing position are perfect! This work is over the top.

    Hi Chris,

Outstanding IMO. Great light, perfect colot rendition, really nice job capturing retail under the wings, great HA and the catch with the splash is what might set this image apart from others for me. I agree that if there something that can be improved is gaining some separation between the inner primary on the left wing and the bill. Otherwise magnificent- big congrats!
