    Default The color of Africa

The color of a Lion has often been described as the color of Africa.
Here this male, one of three brothers, was busy trying to approach a Buffalo herd.
We would often lose this big guy as he weaved his way in and out, blending with the yellow grass.

I like this shot, really shows a lion in their delta environment, though needs a little work.

Seems the light was quite harsh?

I can see where you are coming on this one Marc, but it doesn't quite work for me.

The head lacks detail & sharpness and IMHO requires a bit more 'punch' to lift it out of the grass, if you know what I mean. In addition, the overall colour is a bit too 'yellow', but this is only my view. :-)

    Thanks for sharing.

Lovely shot, Marc. I really like the grass. I couldn't pull up the OP but it sounds like the RP is the way to go anyway.

Strangely, OP not showing, so can only comment on repost. Like the comp. No issues with colors as that has been dealt with. to help pop, have sharpened further. Nothing special, just some selective smart sharpen on the head and back.

I, too, can't see the original image! But, the repost is lovely, and I like your repost better than David Fletcher's selective sharpening.

Like how the repost tones down the colors. I like the placement of the lion amid all the grass. He seems to blend right in.

Like the way you presented the lion, Marc, different and very effective. The subsequent posts improved the original. Nice thinking, well executed.
