    Grebes are pretty funny. To get close you need to wait for them to submerge, then run toward them for maybe 5 seconds, stop, and remain motionless. Wait for them to come up and then submerge again. Repeat as needed.
    I'm imagining a backward glance?

    I like the pose and fluffed feathers, bg water is complementing. Might only tone down the one bright spot by the tail Very appealing image !!!

    William, I like the looks of those wet, ruffled feathers and the HA. On my monitor it looks just a bit faded at the end of its beak. Cute bird . . . nice image . . .

    You did well with the exposure...I like the wet look, your little guy has a good head angle and good eye contact...keep them coming...:cool:

    I think Pied-billed Grebe's are really cute little guys and you have done this one justice and caught some character. I like the ruffled feathers, the wet look, the lookback and the color in the reflection/ripples.

    Like it, hard guy to close-up. Solid techs, good eye, nice feather detail,.. your basic good picture (smile)!

    All this on a small subject at 400MM, sweet - well done Bill.
