It was interesting to have a moment with this fox as he took time out to rest. The sad part of this story is that someone shot him last July 4th for no apparent reason. What a shame as he was so beautiful.

I think I remember this fox from a previous post of yours. What a beauty. Nice shot with environment showing. When I was shooting fox kits last spring I showed up one morning to the location at 4:30 am to set up and found two of them dead on the county highway - pretty sad.

Beautiful picture of the late Frosty. I wish I'd get a chance at the shooter :(

Danny. I can just image how you felt at that moment.. Sometimes it can be so painful and especially when it is kits. Not much of a chance to experience life in the wild. That is the part of wild life that I find so difficult but then there is the other side and that is what keeps us going. Many thanks Danny for your comments.

Very pretty subject and I like the fact you can see both eyes without direct contact. I like the DOF you achieved at f/4. I might see what it would look like with the snow a little whiter. He might benefit from a tad more room above as he feels a little cramped though I like it as presented.

    Judy,

I like the tucked pose, keeping extremities warm is a priority for both man and beast in cold weather.
Exposure looks spot on. No canid is safe from human predation.

    Best,

    Chas

Really like the low angle and the inquisitive look of the fox. Sad that someone shot this beautiful animal. Sometimes I wonder why people do the things they do.

Lovely image, Judy, I also immediately noticed the "tucked in" pose and the bushy tail. Sad story; thanks for sharing the image.
