He/She was not a part of the group I posted yesterday. Just enjoying all by himself. I got some nice shots that evening...even the egret and little blue heron silhouettes that I have posted were from the same evening.

40D. 300f/4 non-IS and 1.4x. iso 400. f/5.6....the exif says SS was 1/3200...but am having a hard time believing that. Can the exif ever lie? e.g yesterday's shot was 1/125 at iso640 anf f/4!! This was a slightly brighter BG...but that many stops brighter?

Does pano work? I croped this way because I liked the parallel bands.

    All opinions welcome.

Light, pose and colors look very good. I would probably go with a more traditional crop. What is the bird standing on, some kind of cage? I have never noticed that the EXIF is not correct.

Axel...yes...does look like some cage-like structure. Probably something someone dumped in the lake.

Thx for the suggestions as always.

Very nice silhouette. I like the colors and the composition.

The bird is standing on a crab trap. Judging by the apparent lack of attached float that would show ownership, it appears this trap is abandoned.

Nice silhouette. I like the warm colors and also the bands but might crop this to having just the one light and dark bands at the top (cropping to just the bottom of the smaller dark band). You need to go out there and change that cage perch to a nice gnarled tree branch sometime :)
