While scouting locations for my Setup Workshops, I spent a few days at this great location where we had up to 100 Gambels Quail in front of us every day.
I placed this rock with the background in mind, and relocated these wildflowers (growing 15 feet away) next to the rock.
I then placed seed behind the rock which the Quail took to very quickly.
Getting just one quail in the frame was a challenge, and they didn't stay on the rock but for a fraction of a second.

This is such a wicked setup from the rocks to the yellow flowers/beautiful BG.........and the bird's not bad, either. You are evil to tempt me with this image for your workshop:):):)

Alan, this is a beauty, and I sure do appreciate your information on how you helped this scene to materialize...great vision. You might consider a crop to lose a little off the bottom of the rock and the OOF flower...but it would remove a couple of the really nice flowers over on the right as well. Lovely work, man!

Beautiful image. I love those flowers....and the lichen on the rock. Great forward-thinking!
