Gitzo 1340, Katana Gimbal, natural light, slight crop
A small amount of canvas added to the left.

I don't think I like the main branch of the tree coming up the center
of the frame, but the dang bird kept looking to my left!

O well, we can't please everyone., thanks for looking!

I love the eyes on these owls. I would clone out the repeated nib on the branch you extended. Another beauty Ray. Heading back to Costa Rica for a month in the new year. Grab a ticket!

Nice overcast light, BG, and exposure. I don't really like the main trunk that much, and would try running NG on the BG.

    Keep them coming!

Ray i was curious how this would look as a vertical crop. I hope you don't mind my attempt.

A winner shot Ray, love the sharpness and BG. I actually like the original comp as it is more balanced and natural, agree with removing the repeating twig.

Beautiful little owl, Ray, especially the pink feet. Good feather detail, he looks almost wet. Another species I wish to see in real life.

Stellar! Super detail and clarity. The eyes look amazing.
I think it would work really well as a square crop

Another vote for the vertical crop. The slight head tilt adds a dynamic to the photo.

I like the repost but personally I love the original post as it show some of the environment of this little saw-wet-owl. It adds so much interest IMO and I would love to have this one in my file. Awesome image Raymond and the eyes put it over the top !!!! Love it.

I prefer the tight vertical....but both have their merits. Details on the bird are awesome. and those eyes...wow

Hey Ray - Every time I see this little owl I'm just amazed at how cool looking it is with those big eyes. Awesome exposure and clarity and I think the vertical is the winner here for composition choices. Thanks.
