    Canon 550 EX flash -2 1/3

    This was taken at the finca with a single flash. The BG was mostly black with some real grainy dark green. I opted to make it totally dark. I am sure it won't be for everyone but it shows the hummers muti-colours. All C&C welcome.

    Very well done IMHO. I know the BG isn't natural looking but I like it. Good work with focus and exposure considering you only used one flash.

    I like the pose, wing position, and iridescence. I wish for a more natural looking BG, and less of a flashed look.

    Although I love the hummer wing position and colors, I am not a fan of black BG. TFS.

    I like the drama of the black BG. Terrific pose and nice iridescence. I'd probably sharpen a bit more.

    This is a striking capture Jim

    Good focus and nicely frozen in time between the flash the relatively slow shutter. The iridescent colors are stunning, but somehow (perhaps the flash... perhaps the darkened bg) the image looks a bit 2-dimensional to me.

    ...and I like it anyway, :)
