I like the look-back pose and sharpness. Maybe a bit more contrast and room at the bottom?

I like the crop / pose and sharpness.

Saturation and contrast look a bit low? Perhaps it just needs to be a little bit warmer?

Lovely use of DOF to get this guy popping out of the screen . Personally and it is a very personal view , I feel that the incomplete bird somehow leaves the 'x' factor out of the composition .

I'll chime in on the missing legs / feet or as Rakesh reffered to it "incompleteness".

For thoseof us who photograph these types of shorbirds in natural rocky habitata, this is how they are frequently seen.

Personally, and I do agree that it's personal taste, seeing the main body of the bird in it's natural environment....simply looks natural :)

It's totally different that creating images of them when they are out on a sand / tidal flat.

I like the look back pose and the colors of the rocks add interest. Sharp details. I agree w/ Jim this is a nice habitat image and I don't need to see the feet. Nice job w/ this.

Thankyou all for your comments. I appreciate the feedback. It's nice to hear how others feel.

PS-Jim, I added a bit of warmth to the image and it does look good. Thanks

Sharp with almost enough d-o-f for the tail. EXP good, head angle perfect for the over-the shoulder pose. Count me in the show-me-the-whole-bird club See you soon.

Agree with above comments Denise. The bird looks oversharpened on my monitor; I'd try backing off a bit. And a slightly warmer color temp would improve the image IMO. Love the eye contact and habitat.
