In the Alps of Austria the people like to jodel. A strange sound to call to eachother. Waching this buzzard i got the feeling he was trying to do the same thing:D;)

I like the detail around the head (the eye is superb) and the open beak is definately a plus in this one.

Wonderful capture! I really like the pose with the open beak, nice catchlight in the eye. The exposure is right on, colors are good. The only minor nits I can find are the background is a bit noisy, and a hair distracting in the transition from dark to light areas.

I do like the calling pose and sharpness.

Overall the light looks a tad harsh.

The OOF diagonal elements in front of the birds head detracts a fair bit to my eyes.

I like the light, sharpness, eye contact and the calling pose adds interest. Was he trying to intimidate you because he had food?

Love the pose and compo here . Would run NR on the BG though . Looks very noisy for ISO 400 .

Cool pose. The bird's head looks to be ever-so-slightly angled away. Smoothing out the background a bit is an option.
