    Hi Bob,

I like the way you captured the plumes extended in the Egrets typical display. The bird is centered in the frame, but it works for me in this image. My only nit is that the head appears a bit soft.

Hey Bob, Good job on getting the plumes raised. The uneven BKGR with the dark area and larger branches is a bit distracting. Good job also on the exposure. Venice???

    Thanks Artie and Jim -

Artie - Yep, Venice. Heron chicks are up in a few nests now (including that one in front with the perfect POV), and the Egrets are getting active. I definitely agree with you on the BKGR. I tried really hard to convince him to fly up top, where I had composed the perfect BKGR with those distant trees. Alas, he just wouldn't move for me ;).

Jim - Took a look at the full size, and the head looks good. There may be the very slightest bit of softness at the very tip of the beak, but not enough to even bother with at this size. This is a 10+ MP crop. hard to judge that suff looking at the image sizes we have to post for forum purposes....especially on a white bird.

Beautiful image... I love the spray of plumes against the dark BG.

    Hi Bob,

Lovely pose. I know this guys is not in a clean BG but you did well with the exposure and details.
