    Very nice! I'm not exactly sure what I like about it, but it just has a nice feel to it. I wish for a bit more room between the bird's head and the dark area above it, and some more room on the right. I would have suggested a lower angle, but that would make my first nit much worse.

    Good job by JN above. I would vote for maximizing the tripod height to give a bit of separation between the bird's head and the BGKR.

    It looks like your prime aim in composing this was to include the entire green shrub/tree that the heron was on. I'd like to see a composition that placed the bird further to the left. That would not only give more room in front of the heron but also possibly include more interesting complementary composition elements--such as more of the grasses to the rght and also more of the marsh peninsula at the top right. Did you take any other compositions.
