This is another resident of Finca Oro in Costa Rica. I printed this today and was dissapointed. I really like it on the computer screen. The print looked washed out and the BG blended in with the hummingbird too much. I like the flight position. Any comments or suggestions are appreciated. This is a fair crop with a dark area taken out of the top left.

Hey Jim. I've enjoyed your shots over at birdforum for quite a while. Nice to see you here! I'm just getting familiar with birdphotographers.net.

Beautiful colour in this shot. It looks like you had room to zoom in more. Maybe that would have given it more detail. But you might have been at 200mm to increase your chances of getting the photo. Still, a fine shot as it is.

Love the pose and BG, it does look a wee bit washed on my monitor but really only the tail area.
Beautiful bird, Costa Rica sounds like fun.

I like the eye contact, light and BG and wish the wings were less blurred. You could try to increase contrast.

interesting shot Jim, I like this, and agree with Axel, a titch more contrast, maybe a little sharpening for the print., well done.

Here is a small increase in contrast and sharpness. Thanks for all the comments and suggestions.

Repost looks good. I like the blurred wings and the color contrast between tail and body.

Perfect capture and colors. Nice DOF, a little crop off the bottom and right would help IMHO with the composition. The blur of the wings makes me smile.
