    Default Banking during a hunt

    Hi Everyone,
I haven't posted in a while so here is one from the other day taken at the Nanaimo Estuary.
This Short-eared Owl didn't notice me as he was intent on his hunt. These guys have been a bit elusive this year and I haven't seen any roosting like last year. Most photo oportunities seem to be while they are in flight and even then they only seem to show up a couple of times a day.

    Details: Canon 50D, 500mm + 1.4X, 800 ISO, F 7.1 at 1/2500 sec.

    Thanks for looking,

    Steve

I like the banking pose and your composition in the frame. I might give the eye a little contrast and saturation boost to give it a little more pop in the face.

I do like the banking pose, although I would have preffered the bird higher in the frame if possible.

Lighting looks a bit hot and noise is visible.

The subject looks a bit soft and the only visible eye being lost in shadow detracts some.

    Hi Everyone,
Thanks for your comments. I will have to spend some more time in post edit I guess.

    Thanks,

    Steve
