    Default Harlequin Portrait

I went to Barnegat Light this morning and met Denise and Michael. The birds were quite cooperative. This Harlequin Duck got so close that I decided to go for a portrait.

Good call in going for a portrait. Beautiful plumage on this guy - everything looks right and in its place. Although the bird is parallel to you I would have preferred a bit more of a turn towards you. Nice comp!

Very nice portrait...great detail and color. I wonder about maybe sharpening the eye and the bill just a little.

I find it very interesting how close you were able to get. Well done. Very nice exposure. Dave

Axel, You did get some nice fine feather details. I like the composition and agree a bit more head turn would have been nice. I like that you thought about a portrait and got the shot! These guys are hard to get. Nicely done.

Nice portrait. Like the water droplets on the bird.
