canon 24-70mm or 24 -105mm

I had a burgularly at our home, and i'm in the process of regrouping. As far as replacements, i'm torn between which to replace with 24-70mm 2.8, or the 24-105mm is f4. Thks for any wisdom. I'm a weekend warrior, and like to shoot most anything. I'm more of an outdoor sportsman, than indoor etc.

Sorry about the break in Don I like the versatility of the 24-105 ... would only go for the 2.8 if you have a special need !! ... can't go wrong with either, both fine lenses !!!

Agree with Al. I have both of these and about the only time I use the 24-70 is when I am indoors. Also a plus goes to the 24-105 in the weight area.

Hey thks, thank goodness, i heeded advice and got insurance. Sadest part they stole all of my wife's jewerly including diamond rings.Walked off with 50 inch plasmas etc.... and finally beat, and kicked around our jack russell, who fiercely defends our home, and then locked her in a closet. Lord help them if i ever catch them, in our home, or neighbor's homes. They have a little surprise waiting on them!!!!

I usualy find the 2.8, not fast enough for indoor shooting. so i use fast prime for that purpose. For all in all lens the 24-105 IS are great, sharp wide open, the Is are very welcome for fill in flash at low shutter speed, altough a bit narrow on a 1.6 crop body.
