    Palm Warbler?

Metered light falling on this bird at a local state park, set to M and fired away. The BLUBB was on top of a log 22 feet from subject.

Good looking bird Jeff Sharp and perfect pose Not sure what you metered on but seems a little over? Whites under the beak and breast are have little detail. Should be easy to select and multiply !!

bg wise the light areas do catch attention but not much you could have done, do like how you minimized the perch and placed the little guy !! Excellent image !!!

Al, used light meter, aimed it towards the sky but not directly at the sun, with bulb exposed. Measured light falling on this site prior to shooting. Exposure should have been correct - my mistake.
The reason I named it "Colors" was the BG spots are colors that kinda matched the bird, somehow during the image reduction & posting process I lost some of the image's punch - so it goes? I agree, they seem more of a distraction that a compliment,. well back to the drawling board (smile).
Whites were in the last stop 99% in range I thought?

Great comments AL,..the image needed better review on my part prior to posting. I need to incorporate better process review steps into my workflow.

I will redo this one right, it is a beautiful baby.

Wow,..I think it might be a Palm Warlber, can anyone confirm?

Hi Jeff - My 2 cents on the identification:
This is a Yellow-rumped Warbler, "Myrtle" group, in fall plumage.
Lovely subtle colors this time of year.
    Cheers
    Gail

Thanks Gail,. I am so excited to have photographed a Warbler.

Yes the subtle colors are great, I hope they come thru to some extent, I will repost later this week. I have several pictures.

Yep-I go with winter plumage of Yellow-rumped Warbler-a lot of variation in winter plumage but call and actions usually typical.

Hi Jeff, I'm looking forward to seeing more images of this little warbler...my monitor doesn't do this one justice.

    A very nice capture Jeff,
Agree with Mr. Forns on the techs. The feather details are good and so is the color rendition...keep them coming...
