    Default Oystercatcher

Another image from a bountiful outing at Little Estero Lagoon on Friday.

    Model: NIKON D2X
    ISO: 400
    Exposure: 1/1000 sec
    Aperture: 2.8
    Focal Length: 400mm
It lost a little sharpness through uploading via picasa.

    cheers
    Gavin

Nice Image Gavin. Gorgeous deep color, nice BG. Really like the pose and the action of the water on the beak. I also really like the warm soft light. I would like to see a little more space on the left, as this would add more interest. I think the sharpness is just fine.

thanks for the feedback. I do tend to crop too tight. Looking at it again with your suggestion it struck me that a 16:9 widescreen format might look good. Is this better?

Nice light and colors. Also like the water cascading off the bill. One of the few I can remember seeing with a round pupil. I like the reposted crop.

I like the overall feel to the image. Great low angle, and I like the water trail coming off the bill. The body and head are angled away and the light angle coming from the left has caused some shadows on the right part of the bird.

P.S. I also prefer the comp in the repost...
