    Nice portrait. These guys must be hard to get. The blacks of the head and neck contrasted to the whites of the necklace and breast make it tough. I really like the smooth velvety appearance of the blacks. That red eye is perfect. The white breast at the water line looks a tad hot. OTH, the tones and swirls of the water are super.

    chas, this is fantastic. love the water. you can even see the iridescence (spelling?) in the black feathers.

    did you mean to leave the multiple catchlights?

    I left the catch-light(s) as they are natural refections from the waters surface.

    Gorgeous image, Chas. Loons have an amazing bill, so symmetric and dagger like. Beautiful.
