The sacred ibis is not the prettiest bird in Southern Africa. It is however, available for photography in large numbers and a difficult customer to expose with its black and white colours.
Taken at a local pond close to our home, where flocks of these birds come to roost every afternoon as the sun casts a golden glow on the pond.
Own critique - wish I had a sliver more space at the top.

Hi Morkel, Love the bird. I find it sharp and well exposed and I see good details in the whites and blacks. The raised wing is nice. I also find the fanned tail pleasing. I agree with your own critique that it is a little tight at the top. If this were mine I would see how evening out the background (reducing/eliminating the barker area in the upper right) effected the presentation. Well done and thanks for sharing.
