I know the light was a little harsh but yesterday was so gorgeous here in Michigan I could not leave the sanctuary real early. All comments welcomed as always!

Lot's of to like here, exposure techs look good. have you studied the sunny 16 rule, if so it is always fun to see if the exposure falls within range. I am not going to do the math, just a neat home work assignment for you.

Whites show great detail and nice HA but the head is where you have opportunities. It is in faint-light and lacks detail, looks like the sun angle was not in your favor. Maybe its coming from the right and he was looking slightly out of range. Still a great picture. On balance, what you want is light on the face lens side, sharp eye and pleasing head angle - this is best case - nice one and I love the out of water experience.

Love the ISO given the shutter speed and the f stop is not bad, maybe f/8.0.

Nice image, the white details on the body look really good, also love the pose, sharpness and wing span. The shadow on the head and under left looks a bit funny, can't make out where the light is coming from. I might lighten the whole image up a bit.

Interesting the light angle, maybe a shadow? Might also give a more room at the bottom for the virtual feet !!! Tough doing these guys in harsh light !!!

Hi Gary. Nice pose and capture! I agree with punching up the image a bit, maybe a curves adjustment with the center point pushed a tad? Would also take away some of the head room by taking a tad off the top.
