I was lucky with this one. I was out for a walk and saw this thrush in a tree and thought why can't he be out in the open. He flew out of a tree and landed on this post. I was able to move around for different BGs. I like the fall leaves in this image. All C&C welcome.

Lovely shot and exposure. I might crop a little tighter all around. The maple leaves are a great back drop.
    Very nice shot.

    Hi Jim,

A very attractive shot with the creamy pale purple BG, nice sharp eye and beak, good HA. I like being able to see the feet with toes stretched out. For my taste, the only thing I would change would be to crop so the bird is just a bit further to the right in the frame.

Congratulations on a very lovely shot!

    Cheers!

Typical thrush pose, nice overcast light, and sweet BG. I agree with the others about cropping from the left, but could also see this as a vertical.

A lovely sharp shot Jim, with a very nice bg.

Lucky doesn't say it! I'd love to get a shot of this guy as we've never seen one here.

    very nicely captured,

    Kenn

Great shot of one of my all time favorite birds, Jim. Their beauty is subtle but their song is over the top. Nice, clean image and comp. I wouldn't mess with it.

Love the BKGR, the SH, the toes, heck, everything but the crop. Be right back....

Jim, Your processing skills are superb. Image quality was superb especially considering the small size. I struggled with the crop wishing that the original capture had the bird farther to our right in the frame.

This is beautiful Jim... love the tones of this image, and the detail is great. Interesting to see various crops... seems to be about all that can be played with to possibly make an awesome image just a tad better. Congrats.

The crop was my only concern here, and Artie has reposted it to what I imagined was ideal. Great perch and BG...love the OOF foliage. You say you were able to move around for different BGs...seems like it stayed put for a while!!

Thanks for the kind comments and suggestions. I had less than a minute with this bird and had 4 keepers. I will try a re-crop incorporating the various suggestions.

Great shot Jim both choices for composition work for me the main thing is the bird looks fantastic with excellent detail.

Jim, you realise he flew out the tree just for you. Lovely open shot, and I like the pose, light and colours. Great OOF BG too. Well captured.
