Visited Shiloh Marsh Road at Merritt Island NWR, Florida, on the last day before duck season opens (which closes the road until Feb). Lots of wintering white pelicans, avocets, teals, shovelers, and an uncountable number of coots. I liked this capture for the paired avocets and the lone coot. Lighting not the best. Nikon D300, Nikkor 300 f4 with 1.4 teleconverter. ISO 500, 1/1250 f8.

I like the idea here, though I wish the coot was facing you more. I might try a pano crop for this image.

How did the coot in there? :) I like the mood and light and agree about a pano crop and might sharpen the birds a bit more.

I like the group of four in the middle with the upper left bird with its head up and wouldn't mind seeing just that group cropped and sharpened a bit more. Just a thought.
