    Thick-knees (also called Dikkops) are nocturnal and crepuscular normally spending the daytime resting in some concealed location.

    Beautiful image, Dave. I like both the dikkop species very much, and this one looks good! Like the way it pops from the background, sharpness, feather details and of course the habitat.

    Wonderful capture Dave with a striking pose, low angle and eye contact. The added droplets of water falling from the beak add a lot to this image. Fine work and many thanks for sharing.

    Hi Dave, I like the drinking pose, and well placed in the frame. Good overall detail, with your usual sharpness, and the trailing droplets puts this over the top. Well captured.

    Lovely light Dave! Great action too, freezing the droplets, and the shutter speed is spot-on. A slightly better HA would have been a bonus, but that's a minor.
