This was another in the series I took last week Of the anhinga fishing but in this capture it shows the fish just after it was caught where as the first post was just before he swallowed it.

Very nice. I really like this one with the head of the fish visible. The poor little guy even looks like he has a frown on his face.... Great detail and exposure.

Very special capture Judy! The fish looks folded double:) Like the crisp detail.

Very cool capture. It really shows how sharp those bills are -- the fish don't have a chance. The light background really shows the details in the fish's fins.

Nice shot, Judy Lynn. That little fishy didn't know what hit him. I've never seen an anhinga other than here on BPN. Mike Fuhr shoots them pretty frequently. What is the next step in the process? It has to efficiently dislodge the prey before swallowing. Does it use its feet?

I like this image over the other one. The HA of the anhinga is interesting as well as the curve of the fish. A real beauty!

    Hi Danny

Actual what happens after the anhinga gets the fish is that it throws it up in the air so as to get it in the right position for swallowing. The fish is taken down head first so the scales of the fish will not injure it's throat

Thanks for looking and for your comments.

This is great Judy! The anhinga almost looks like it's laughing... like 'look what I have'... lol. Great detail and a very intersting image to see. Congrats.

Comp works well Judy, and it looks like he showing off his catch to you, just so you can capture that perfect shot - and you achieved that perfectly. Well done.
