Brian,

I love the eye contact! The light is a little harsh with the shot apparently taken with the sun rather high in the sky but you might be able to soften the highlights slightly to make that less evident. Still, you have retained the sharpness and detail nicely. As a matter of personal preference, I might crop the image so that the bird sits a little lower in the frame giving more open space to the top as well as the left of the bird, the direction he is going.

I like the eye contact and underwing exposure and wish both eyes were evenly lit.
