    Default Great Egret

Taken at Forest Park in St. Louis. The classic egret pose, a little boring, but I liked the way it was standing on the tree limb, on one leg of course. The whites are getting a little warm in places but I wanted to keep them as clean looking as possible. Don't ask me why I was shooting at F/4.0 - sometimes I just forget to engage the brain when watching nature.

Good one as usual Danny. The lower left wing is a little hot but not distracting. Lovely image.

Looks great Danny! I like the BG with the exception of the upper left two twigs. As for the whites, egrets are supposed to be white and yours is perfect IMO!

    Hi Danny,
Nice pose, head angle, and look at that sharp yellow eye. I also like the BG, the green compliments the bird well.

I like the classic pose of the heron. Great shot of a heron in its natural environment!

Great shot. Remove 2 twigs to left, maybe add some room above head? The bird has this cozy look as if it is hugging itself. I like the branches below, very rough, versus the smooth head and bill.

Hi Danny. I like the one-legged pose and the head angle. Nice sharpness on the bird. I think f/4 worked well for you here - otherwise there would be too much detail in the background, IMO. You might consider cloning the several twigs in the ULC.

    Hi Danny.
Super image of a bird I have yet to get a look at! Looks like you got him spot on. Nice bg--I like the intertwined twigs and green. The daylight showing through is a bit distracting for me--but not much to be done about it.

Hey Bonnie - If you are ever near St. Louis I'll take you to Forest Park. It is our "Central Park" and its always been a hang-out for great egrets, green herons and yellow-crowned night herons.

Super details and pose Danny. Nicely done. Twigs top left mentioned, otherwise, pretty cool. WD!

Agreed. I don't see these guys often enuf to be bored with any natural pose. ;)
Love the soft detail on the under-parts.

    Beautiful shot I say,

    Kenn

Super one legged pose Danny, good job on the whites, and overall nice and sharp. Well captured.
