A Male Mallard for critique, Took this image a week ago and have done various cropping to it till I was able to settle on this. Thank you, Ron

Tremendous golden colour to the water, and nice light too. Comp works OK, I'd probably crop close to an inch below and add that above (if you have it) - you want to take advantage of that colour! Face is nice and sharp as it should be and because of that I don't mind the shallow DOF. I'd be tempted to lighten the iris a bit.

Love the golden water, and details in the Head of the bird. I also like the edit more than the original photo.

The background colors really make this image, Ron. IMO the repost is an improvement.

    Ron:

The repost is very nice, Daniel made good suggestions as always. Colors are wonderful, and the slightly smaller bird size works better in my opinion.

Be sure to post your tech. details with the image so we can better understand what went into the image.

    Cheers

    Randy

Hey Ron - This image is a bit surreal but I like it - very unique. I'm amazed at how much better it looks with the tiny correction you did on the crop! Good work and nice image.

Hey Ron, the repost looks much better mainly because of the relatively smaller size of the bird. As noted by everyone here, the BKGR is just awesome. Congrats!!
