Hey Harshad - You got a pretty good angle on this bird even though you were in an SUV. This bird has beautiful feather details and I love shots like this with the parched, broken ground. Bokeh pretty sweet here as well and I like the overall color tone. Nice.

Very nice, not much to critique. Did you try one with the BG slightly darker to see if the bird stands out even more?

I like the pose, the color tone, and the cracked earth. The BG blurs out nicely.

    Harshad:

Looks like a desolate place. Nice colors, pose.

To my eye, the wing is a bit sharper than the eye, perhaps a bit of selective sharpening on the head/eye area?

Part of me wants to crop just a bit from the left. It is always a challenge with a long tailed bird parallel to the image plane, reduces your cropping options, but I might try a smidge off the left.

    Cheers

I like the parched environment here, Harshad. It's hard to imagine what it might find to eat in that vicinity. The pose is good and I like the way the background colors complement those of the bird. You might try a bit of selective sharpening around the face.

This is a beautiful image, Harshad. I like the overall sharpness and detail, especially the feather detail. Eye also looks really good. I have a somewhat similar image of a juvenile (this is a juvie Circus macrourus, right?) taken in Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park- will post it sometime. I am starting to wish for a world bird guide to learn more about worldwide species distribution! Thanks for sharing.
