    This is the female sitting on the nest. She was along a horse path at the finca in Costa Rica. She was used to traffic so the photo op was a minimal intrusion. It was taken under cloudy conditions in the rain forest. I like the fern leaves in the BG of the image. I wish there were some on the left to balance it out and add more interest. I hope you enjoy it. All C&C welcome.

    I like the fern in the BG and the lichen on the nest Jim! Good sharpness on the bird and eye contact.

    Jim, good sharp detail for such a slow ss. I like the colours too. Interesting textures in the BG.

    I like the sharpness on this beautiful little bird, Jim. I find myself wishing for a little more DOF to sharpen up those cool lichens on the side of the nest. I'm not so sure about the background ferns directly above the bird's head as I feel they are distracting (looks like mine is a minority opinion, however :) ).

    As the point of interest is nice and sharp ,It was very worthwhile taking this image even though the DOF and low light conditions took a little away from making even more special
