    I went out this morning and came away with this portrait of a goose. I just love the their eyes, and the contrast in colours. Taken at the University of Pretoria. The BG is water.

    Love the warm light, catchlight, comp and leer... =) Nice range of whites in the neck and head feathers. Surprisingly sharp, given that you were shooting on the 400mm end of the 100-400 zoom.

    I never had a image this sharp at 400mm with this lens. Great shot Stuart!

    Very nice shot Stuart. I like the almost leathery feel to the bill. Lost of detail and really good jobs on the whites. Dave

    One dat Stu, i'm gonna come down your way, and try to muscle my way in on the Uni at Pretoria and try and get some fine shots like you lads do. (think of me as a poor, elde aged old ye fart, :D, walking stick an all that).... Great stuff. ;). Congrats. D

    Little late here Stuart but I wanted to let you know that I agree with everybody that this is a fabulous shot. Man, you can see the blood vessels in the eye and the beak detail is amazing.
