Hi Robert This is so Cool !!!!!! Talk about a wall of birds !!!! Love it as presented !!!!

For other blast offs You might want to try cranking up the ISO and stopping down as much as possible With white birds we have tried going to a ridiculous ISO and shooting at f 64 Neat results !!!! Big Congrats on your fine image !!!!

I like this and there really is no BG at all. Why is it so blue?

Did you have many chances to create images like this? Does the situation set up every year?

This must have been way-cool and on the surface it is an interesting image. At Bosque, when teaching the principles of blast-off photography, we talk often of trying to achieve the flat wall effect, a wall of bird on a single plane. And we empasize that the birds nearest the camera need to be in focus. (This can be difficult to do at times...) IAC, the focus here is well back into the flock (which is less than ideal). Take a peek at the badly oof bird in the bottom center; by itself this bird is an image wrecker.

    later and love, artie

This must have been an amazing display to see and hear. Correcting the blue cast would improve this alot. Well done, and quite striking!
