There is a pelagic trip out of Sydney on the 2nd Saturday of every month. The trip leaves early morning and is out on the continental shelf for most of the day. Records have been kept for 16 years, and the variety of birds and cetations generally seen is interesting and exciting. Anyone thinking of a visit here could plan around this - it is worthwhile. I took this pic last July - The Bullers breeds in New Zealand, and is not a regular visitor to Sydney waters.

Awesome bird and capture Nevil! Nice that the bird is above the horizon. The wing position makes a good composition. Pelagic bird photography is a challenge and you have done well here!
Great job, Neville. I like the 2 tone BG showing sea and sky. Nice light and sharpness on the face and the wing tip blur adds a sense of movement. Albatross are just magnificent in flight.
You've done well here Nev getting this shot as I know just how hard they are to get of this Albatross on a pitching boat.
Some 4 years ago I helped crew a trawler from Newcastle to Darwin and had the opportunity to meet these guys whilst steaming North along Stockton Bight.
