    Default Female House Finch

This finch has some kind of inflammation on its head. Is this an infection? I don't think it's a courtship display. What do you think?

    Canon 7D + 800mm f/5.6L IS lens, ISO 400, EV -0.67, 1/2000s, f/5.6

    Thanks in advance,

I've asked a specialist bird vet to take a look. Something is seriously wrong!

Thanks guys for your help. I think it's Avian Pox since the eye is not affected.

    This from the bird vet:

Poxvirus is most likely, less likely but still possible is a tumour, or a bacterial or fungal infection but its most likely pox.
