Fantastic!!! Techs look spot on to me. Did you try a vertical?

I tried cropping it as a vertical first but it cropped too tightly so kept it as a horizantol

Suzanne - This is about as razor sharp as you can get on a bird in flight, just perfect. The landing pose is awesome and the light was right on it. Sweet image.

    Suzanne:

Excellent timing and techs here. I agree with Ofer about a vertical. Certainly worth the effort to expand the canvas. Well done.

    Suzanne:

Since you haven't done a lot of canvas expansion, based on your comments, I thought I would do a very quick version to see what you think.

Not necessarily better than the original, but your bird has a very strong vertical component to it, so thought it was worth a try.

    Basic technique:

    Expand canvas with crop tool.
Rectangular marquee tool to outline the area that I wanted to stretch out to fill the new blank canvas
    Stretched it to fill

Minor cloning and clean up to remove obvious signs of stretching.

There are other ways, more elegant ways as well, but this allows a quick look at what expanded canvas would do to the composition.

    Again, a very fine capture.

    Cheers

    Randy
