When I saw this tree, I though about trying as a stained glass image...I had an old photo of a church window, I tried all different combinations. This one seemed to be best. Unfortunate I didn't have the top of the arch....

Paul, I love the idea of using the tree to represent the roots. That is really thinking OOTB! I like the first image -but feel the black arch overpowers the stained glass effect. Both are very creative.

    Nice image and application, Paul.

You could paint in the arch. I kind of like the effect of the arch, with the tree of life behind in stained glass.

Paul - I really like the stained glass effect - maybe a thinner arch? And the root idea is very, very clever.

Decided to start all over again, knew stained glass idea would work..just needed right combination..so I went back to original print (lol..only window image I had):

1: enlarged canvas, pasted in recreate image
    2: masked window panes only
    3: cut panes out
4: selected black color, used filter for stained glass, made cells size 5
5: select option, color range...selected white..close..then mask is over white stained glass center of cells
6: move mask over recreate image selecting, whatever part of image I liked..copied
7: paste back into window pane (zoom in on image to correctly place pasted image), now what you get is stained glass look but each individual cell is sharp and clear.

Hard to explain, but try it you'll see what I mean
Still not sure it works but I think its better than first one
Thanks for your help Denise and Cheryl
    Thanks for comments Mark, NZ

I like your last version, Paul. The stained glass effect looks great! Might want to straighten the arch.

    Thank You All for comments

Chris..the original image was taken at a high angle, then I took the right side of the arch..copied cloned, flipped and pasted into image...having said that trying to get everything square was tough (so I left it askew).

The reason why, the more I tried to rotate the image the more image I lost...hope you understand what I mean

I do think it works better the way you suggested as a final image..but LOLOLOL..I am going to have to start at the beginning again ;) ...thanks Chris

I understand what you mean, Paul. The image definitely looks better straightened, you just need more room so that nothing is cut off.
