    This was taken a couple days ago in a local marsh. It was heavy overcast so I let the colours run cool, which I think is the way they were. 50D, 500mm, f/4 at f/4, 1/125, ISO 400. I cropped a bit from left and top. Dave

    Nice image of a lovely subject. Good detail and I like the oof blowing grass in the BG. I'd get rid of the two bigger reeds if your into that stuff and sharpen around his eye a bit. Congrats

    Agree with taking out some of the distracting elements. Also consider darkening the BG a touch. The bird looks very nice.

    Thanks for the comments Brian and Joel. I appreciate them. I had thought the oof reeds helped witht he framing of the bird. It does not appear to have been a popular decision. I suspect the oof fg reed was the culprit. Dave
