    Hi

Guy I really like this one!! The perch, as such, is very nice, enough but not too much. Also the stare and the exposure is lovely.

Hi Guy, very nice image and well exposed, clean and crisp. However, I am curious why you have 'all points' activated and the reason for that? I would have select the focus point on the eye only, so I am intrigued to your rational, as we are constantly learning. :-)

    thanks

Wow great image. Thanks also for showing the focus. I have never trusted anything but center point even on my 1DS-mk3, but after reading Arties CD, I am thinking about giving it another try. How did you know it would grab the owl and not the foreground?

Stunning bird! I love the complimentary colors of the bird, perch, and BG. I'm not a big fan of automatic focus point selection. For perched birds with the 7D I've been using spot AF, moving the AF point over the eye and composing in camera. I'm having good success with that strategy, and have even started using it for swimming ducks.

    Thank You Steve,

I did the focus on the eyes and then I adjusted the frame.

Beautiful image with a good balance of habitat. The grasses add plenty for me. Fabulous details! :)

Beautifully composed, lovely pose and tonal values. This, for me, is one of the best images of a Snowy Owl I have seen - and we have certainly seen a lot on BPN!
