    Default Welcome Swallow

This was taken on a rainy day in poor light, but the swallows were feeding over a pond, and I sat in my car, with the lens getting wet, trying SO hard to get a sharp...ish picture of these fast flying swallows --

Hi Nevil, I like the pose of the bird. The wing position and the tail flare is very pleasing to me. Not bad for ISO 2000. As viewed from my screen, If it were mine I would selectively sharpen the head and body a little. Thanks for sharing.

With regards to just getting this guy in your frame - very well done Nevil. Cool banking angle, and love the colours on the head. I agree with your self critque regarding poor light, which in turn has brought out some noise. Still, well captured.

Looks like you did it. Good for you. Very nice detail, colours and pose. as mentioned a bit of noise, but the sharpness and details are there. Dave

Superb job just to catch one of these, let alone in such a nice pose. Well done.

Fantastic posture and sharpness. You did what you could under the difficult circumstances, and it worked very well, excellent noise control for ISO 2000. Shutter speed is spot on for small birds in flight!

You really succeeded with this one! Superb wing/tail position and detail. With such a small, fast flying bird this is a fantastic result - the best 'swallow in flight' I have seen.
