    Default Stitchbird (Female)

Wish I had more DOF. Light was pretty low and I did not want to use a flash.
I added about 0.6 EV in EPP.

    Canon EOS 50D EF300mm f/2.8L IS USM
    Manual Exposure
    300mm, Tv = 1/320, Av = 3.5, ISO = 400

    Comments appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Sidharth

Hi Sidharth, With the conditions you had I think you did quite nicely. The important head and eye seem nice and sharp to me. I think the shallow depth of field helps you here as it de-emphasizes the leg bands. In my opinion, as presented, the image feels a bit tight at the bottom as the feet are to close to the edge. Thanks for sharing.

Don't mind the dof as is sharp where it matters Sidharth. Bit tight on bottom and right but easy to fix. Nicely done.

Looks like another great Tiri image, Sidharth. Lighting conditions can be a challenge but you have lovely sharp focus where it counts and BG is great. The bird is a male Bellbird and you have done a great job of capturing the bluish iridescence on the face that I find hard to see in real life. Leg bands are a challenge with such a studied population - I always am happy to find a bird without any when I'm there! Looking forward to more of your NZ images.
