    Default Content Aware Scale

I have never been able to get this to work for me. I've reviewed all of the material I have (CS4 for Digital Photographers. Powershop CS4 for Digital Photographers CD; NAPP tutorials). I select the subject and load it into the alpha channel; select CAS from the edit drop down; protect ahte alpha 1 channel; then drag the handles to how I want to expand the photo, but the photo doesn't come with it. Is anyone else having this problem?

Did you start on a layer?

Yes, a duplicate of the background layer.

I don't understand what you're doing here with the alpha channel. All you have to do is select the area of the image you're going to expand or
contract, go to Edit > Content-Aware Scale, and then drag the handle.

If you are expanding the image, you first must expand the canvas to create some blank space for the expanded image to occupy.

    David,

None of these books talked about expanding the canvas. Maybe that was a given and I'm a little thick. If you were my wife I would kiss you on the lips! Thanks

If you were your wife, I might take you up on it. :D
