Here's another.... What Is It? This one is much more magnified. Please note grain is caused by magnification. It's about 2X IMO. This is a tropical plant leaf. Needs fertile well drained soil and either full light or partial shade. Mine is growing in partial shade.
Canon 5D Mk 11, Sigma 180 mm HSM DX APO f/3.5 macro lens, Canon 1.4 TC, 12 mm ET and 25 mm ET. Exposure was 4 sec. @ f/32.0 ISO 1000. MLU and Time Exposure
You're close. Some marginata looks like this plant. Wish I was as good at this as you...

Hi Charlie: You would love the Missouri Conservationist magazine. They play this game with a macro shot on the back cover of every issue. I'm not even going to guess on this one.
I never would have known that one, Charles but what a cool plant. I'd love to see it with the thick red line running a little more on the diagonal but everything else looks perfect.
Thanks for the critique. I tried to place the main stem on a diagonal initially. Could only get the leaf flat if the stem was straight. It's taped to my old slide photo table. Had to replace both bulbs this week. Found them at Home Depot.
My Ti plant's leaves have a whorl to them this time of year. Used masking tape inorder to get them flat.
Takes more time than I thought at this magnification...

Denise must be a master gardener or have a doctorate in plant taxonomy. I miss your What Is It series....

Beautiful colors and lines. The central vein is especially fascinating at this magnification. I know nothing about tropical plants, so wasn't even going to guess.
Thanks for the comments. Wish I knew more about tropical plants. Since they're not indigenious to this area of Florida they can be more difficult to keep healthy.
Have a friend in our orchid society that's a master gardener. He's very helpful....
