Nothing special, just a Pied Kingfisher showing me his catch. Taken in the Pilanesberg nature reserve late last year.

I like the raised tail feathers. Nice perch and BG. I would only like to see more of a profile; better eye contact and a clean look at the bill and fish would have been the result.

It is an interesting looking bird. Black and white like this is new to me. Agree on the bit of head turn would have been ideal. Nice and sharp and well chosen perch and bg. Dave

Nicely caught, Stu- with fish eye contact:)! Agree with comments on profile, but one has to grab the pose available before the bird disappears. I wish for a KF with prey in my files.

Opportunity well used Stu. With the fish is positioned like that flight is imminent.

I like the background and the location of the subject in the frame. I have to agree with the head angle on this one. Otherwise a great image!

Stuart, Pilanesberg hides are a great place for bird photography, and, in October, there were many photographers at Mankwe whilst I was there, jostling for positions! Maybe try some shadows highlights on the bird to bring out more detail? I like the raised tail and the astonished look on the fish!

Congrats bro! What a ripper! I feel that I can see sufficient details throughout. BG is great! Well done! :) Is this FF?

I like the raised tail, BG and the fish adds to it and only wish there were a little more eye contact and less harsh light.

Hi Stu, I like but not you best PK. I think the light was against you here, you have lost some definition and they are both merging with the black feathers.

Sweet capture for both of you. Love the perch and BG. Only wish for a better head angle.
