Dee Why headland on Sydneys Northern Beaches has been home to breeding Peregrines for a few years, and we have had some marvellous times with them. Having a Peregrine screaming towards me at full speed is one of my absolute highlights as a nature photographer.

Nice one Neville, they are awe-inspiring birds. I wonder if you could get a little more out of the shadows under the wings. Great head angle.

and with a slight look back pose, and eye contact. With those folded wings, he sure was flying pretty quickly, so well done for even getting him in the frame.

Wow, this bird has some amazing talons for its size. Surprised you could catch him this close because they are real speed demons. Nice.

I spent about 10 days photographing Peregrines this summer, so I know how fun and challenging it can be. Nice detail in this image. Wing position is a little awkward, but the eye contact is excellent. Like the talons too.

I like the detail, exposure and colour Nevil. It looks like this was captured from close up, well done on getting him. I like the eye contact. I would have preferred him flying towards you with the head closer than the tail.
You should let us know when you visit this area again.
