    Backyard feeder setup. 40D, 300mm 2.8L + 1.4x TC, 1/200sec., f/7.1, iso640, fill flash 430exII on 1/16 manual. Moderate crop from top and left, Usual photoshop processing with levels, USM, NR. Nothing cloned out.

    I like the raised crest and soft light. The perch is a bit large for this small bird and the plumage looks a bit oversharpened on my monitor.

    I'd go with more of a standard crop as the square presentation kind of allows the perch to dominate the shot. Still the bird looks very nice....
